Karina Musabasheva

I am a Bulgarian filmmaker who graduated in Film and Television with a focus on Directing in Berlin.  I specialize in short films with an abstract and surreal touch, as well as music and dance videos, always looking for new ways to merge movement and narrative.

My background is in dance, dance video production, and the arts, which has always influenced my approach to visual storytelling.



My strongest suits lie in directing, as well as writing and conceptualizing stories. I enjoy shaping a project from its earliest idea to its final execution.

As a director, I believe it's crucial to understand editing, and I have the knowledge and skills to refine my work in post-production.

STORYBOARDS

Storyboarding helps me bring ideas to life visually before they reach the screen. I use my drawing skills to shape the story, mood, and style for every project I work on.

PRE-PRODUCTION WORK

For me, having a clear vision before starting a project is essential. I'm a very visual person, and I rely heavily on the conceptual and visual presentation of an idea to guide my work. That’s why I put a lot of effort into this phase—to ensure that the goal is clear and every creative decision aligns with it.

REPORTAGE WORK

This year, I was responsible for the production and development of two episodes for the German-French television channel ARTE. Through this work, my interest in documentary filmmaking, interviews, and working with real stories and people has grown. I enjoy talking to people and uncovering the stories behind them.
